Police are currently searching for a security guard who is the primary suspect in the fatal shooting of a laborer in Sitio Ilawod, Brgy. Poblacion, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
The victim, identified as Alias Rodel, 36, was a resident of Sitio Sambag, Brgy. Nueva Sevilla, Barotac Viejo, while the suspect, known as Alias Tre-ar, 31, resides in Sitio Ilawod, Brgy. Poblacion, in the same town.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Police Major Felix Alianza, chief of the Barotac Viejo Municipal Police Station, stated that the suspect caught his wife chatting with the victim.
The suspect allegedly used his wife’s cellphone to message the victim and lured him to their house.
When the victim arrived, the suspect confronted him and shot him in the right side of the head using a 12-gauge long-barrel shotgun.
The victim was immediately taken to the Gov. Niel D. Tupas Sr. District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police say the suspect is likely to face murder charges.
