Malacañang, DND, gindayaw ang rescue and relief personnel nga ginpadala sa Myanmar

Gindayaw sang Malacañang kag Department of National Defense (DND) ang Philippine Inter-Agency Humanitarian Contingent (PIAHC) nga ginpadala anay sa Myanmar agud magbulig sa mga naapektuhan sa pungsod kasunod sang 7.7 magnitude nga linog.

Nakabalik sila sa Pilipinas kagab-i, Abril 13, sakay sa Philippine Air Force C-130 cargo aircraft.

“Naipamalas po ninyo ang espiritu ng Pilipino na tumutulong sa kapwa at tumutulong lalong lalo na sa panahon ng pangangailangan,” kabahin sang pag-abi-abi sa ila ni Defense Sec. Gilberto Teodoro, Jr. sa ila pag-abot sa Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

“The selflessness that you’ve shown, the professionalism that you have shown, is something that the Filipinos are very grateful for and are proud of,” dugang sini.

So to everyone who came from and helped in Myanmar, we sincerely thank you. Your actions are truly commendable.”

89 ang mga myembro sang response team nga ginalakipan sang mga personnel sang Office of Civil Defense, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Army, Department of Health – Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Team (PEMAT), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Emergency Response Team, Energy Development Corporation, kag Apex Mining Co., Inc.

Antes naghalin, nagpatigayon sila sang final medical consultations kag nagdul-ong sang essential supplies sa Myanmar Ministry of Health.

Sang weekend, nagdul-ong man ang C-130 sang hygiene kits kag tarpaulin sheets sa Myanmar nga gin-donar sang ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management.

Nahibaluan nga masobra sa 3,600 ang patay sa linog nga nagtay-og sa Myanmar sang Marso 28 particular na sa Mandalay. Sa sini nga numero, duha ka Filipino teachers ang nalakip sa patay, samtang duha naman ang nagapabilin nga missing.
