𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 – ILOILO – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6 has admitted that there is no allocated funding for the repair of the Aganan Flyover in Barangay Aganan, Pavia, Iloilo.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Engr. Sanny Boy Oropel, Director of DPWH Region 6, confirmed that the 2024 budget does not include funds for the flyover’s rectification.
Oropel clarified that while they have financial resources for the original design plan, additional funding is needed for the jet grouting process required for the repairs.
The DPWH plans to request additional funding from the Central Office to ensure the completion of the repairs.
Currently, only P308 million from the P802 million total budget for the Aganan flyover is available to complete it under the approved design plan.
However, an estimated P210 million is still needed to carry out the necessary rectification, similar to the work done on the Ungka Flyover.
Both the Aganan and Ungka flyovers were designed by United Technology Consolidated Partnership (UTCP) under the Bureau of Design of the DPWH-Central Office.
Oropel assured the public that efforts are underway to expedite the planning and secure the necessary funds to prevent further damage to the Aganan flyover.
