The Sandiganbayan has found former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and his former city administrator Aldrin Cuña guilty of graft related to the controversial procurement of the Online Occupational Permitting Tracking System (OOPTS) in 2019.

In a 32-page ruling, the anti-graft court handed down prison sentences of six to 10 years to both Bautista and Cuña.

The court also imposed a permanent ban on them from holding public office as a result of their conviction.

Despite the conviction, the Sandiganbayan chose not to fine the accused, noting that the P32 million in public funds had already been paid to a private firm, which was not part of the case.
