MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Sara Duterte is set to address the media on Friday, February 7, just two days after being impeached by the House of Representatives.
The impeachment stems from allegations of betrayal of public trust, constitutional violations, bribery, graft, corruption, and other serious offenses.
This follows a resolution that was fast-tracked by 215 lawmakers.
The next step lies with the Senate, which will serve as the impeachment trial court.
Senate President Chiz Escudero has confirmed that the trial will not begin until the session resumes in June.
This marks Duterte’s first public appearance since her impeachment by the House.
