The House of Representatives will comply with the Supreme Court’s directive regarding Vice President Sara Duterte’s petition against her impeachment, according to impeachment prosecutor, AKO BICOL party-list Rep. Atty. Jil Bongalon.
“We have not yet received a copy of the order, but definitely, we will comply with the directive of the Supreme Court,” Bongalon said.
The Supreme Court recently ordered both the House and the Senate to submit their comments on Duterte’s petition, which challenges the impeachment complaint filed against her.
The case has sparked legal and political discussions on the validity and process of impeachment proceedings against the Vice President.
Further details on the House’s official response are expected once lawmakers receive and review the order.
