The Office of the President has confirmed its approval of Vice President Sara Duterte’s travel authority to the Netherlands.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the approval was granted on Tuesday at 8:00 PM, just hours before former President Rodrigo Duterte’s flight to The Hague to face charges of crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his controversial anti-drug war.

Vice President Duterte departed for the Netherlands at approximately 7:40 AM on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Vice President stated that she would seek permission from the ICC to personally meet with her father and discuss legal strategies.

It can be recalled that the former president arrived in The Hague on a chartered flight at around 11:55 PM and was immediately taken to the ICC detention center.
