MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has denied claims that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos was detained during her recent trip to the United States.
Araneta-Marcos was in the U.S. from March 5 to 8 to attend the Meeting of the Minds and the Manila International Film Festival.
In a Viber message to reporters on Thursday, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro dismissed the allegations.
“There is no truth that the First Lady was held by any law enforcers while in Los Angeles or anywhere else,” Castro said.
She added that Marcos arrived back in Manila around 5:00 AM on Monday, March 10, and left the airport by 5:58 AM.
