Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque “most likely” escaped the country through the same backdoor exit in Tawi-Tawi last year, Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado reported to the Senate.
“In conclusion, any powerful individual backed by the POGOs or who has access to funding and resources such as the POGOs can easily sneak out of our borders and enter other neighboring countries,” Viado said.
Meanwhile, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) raised the possibility that Guo may have also used an escape route via Palawan.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding their departures, as both individuals remain subjects of national interest.
