Naluwas sang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang 12 ka crew members sang isa ka cargo vessel nga nasunog samtang yara sa tunga sang dagat nga sakop sang Limbones Island, Nasugbu, Batangas.
Ang involved nga barko amo ang MV CASTPILL XV.
Una nga na-resue ang pito ka crew lakip ang kapitan nga may minor injuries, kag sunod amo ang dugang nga lima ka kaupdanan nila nga gilayon man ginhatagan sang nagakaigo nga atensyon-medikal.
Gindala ang crew sa Pier 15, South Harbor, Manila kag gintugyan sa Coast Guard Medical Dispensary para sa dugang nga medical evaluation.
“At approximately 7:59 AM, BRP Boracay safely arrived at Pier 15, South Harbor, Manila, where the rescued crew members were turned over to the Coast Guard Medical Dispensary for further medical evaluation,” suno sa press release sang Coast Guard.
Nagapadayon pa ang imbestigasyon sa ginhalinan sang sunog.
“The PCG has initiated an investigation to identify the cause of the fire incident. The DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon assures the public of his commitment to ensure maritime safety thru all agencies under his department especially the PCG. The PCG also reaffirms its commitment to ensuring maritime safety and responding promptly to emergencies at sea,” dugang sa statement.#
