Negros Occidental, Philippines Kanlaon Volcano continues to show signs of unrest after releasing a thick column of ash earlier today.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that the ash emission began at 11:52 AM, reaching up to 800 meters above the crater. Winds carried the ash toward the west-northwest, affecting nearby areas.

Communities in La Carlota City, Bago City, and neighboring towns are being urged to take precautions as ashfall is expected in several locations. Residents are advised to stay indoors, wear protective masks, and prepare for possible disruptions.

Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 3, which indicates increased volcanic activity and the possibility of further eruptions. Authorities warn that entering the 4-kilometer permanent danger zone around the volcano is strictly prohibited due to safety concerns.

PHIVOLCS continues to monitor the situation closely and encourages the public to stay updated through official channels.
