Tel Aviv, Israel – A missile launched by Iran struck near the U.S. Embassy branch in Tel Aviv on Monday, causing minor damage to the building, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee reported. Fortunately, no embassy personnel were injured in the incident.
The attack came in retaliation after Israel reportedly bombed several military targets within Iran, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials and scientists, according to regional sources. In response, Iran launched a series of missile strikes on multiple Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv.
As a precaution, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has been temporarily closed. A “shelter in place” order remains in effect for all U.S. diplomatic personnel in Israel.
In a related development, a senior U.S. official disclosed that President Donald Trump recently intervened to block an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei—an act that could have further inflamed the already volatile situation.
Security experts warn that the current escalation between Iran and Israel could spiral into a broader conflict in the Middle East if tensions continue to rise.
