Nag-resign bilang tiglikom sang Department of Health (DOH) si Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa.
Suno sa Malacañang, ang ikaayong-lawas sang opisyal ang nangin una nga konsiderasyon ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. sa pagbaton sang iya resignation.
Bag-o lang nga nagpaidalom si Herbosa sa bilateral knee replacement surgery kag nagpahayag nga kinahanglan niya tapuson ang iya physical therapy agud maka-recover sang dalayon.
Gin-anunsyo naman sang Palasyo nga ang magabulos bilang tiglikom sa ahensya amo si Philippine Orthopedic Center Director Dr. Jose Brittanio Pujalte Jr.
Suno kay Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, may yara sang masobra tatlo ka dekada nga eksperyensya si Pujalte bilang doktor, hospital administrator, manunudlo kag public servant.
Magaserbe siya bilang acting DOH secretary samtang naka-recess ang Kongreso.
Si Pujalte ang nagapamuno sa Philippine Orthopedic Center halin pa sang 2014 kag ginapaabot nga magapadayon sa mga programa sang administrasyon agud mapalig-on ang health care system kag mapasangkad ang access sang publiko sa dekalidad nga serbisyo sa panglawas.
Gindayaw naman ni Deputy Speaker kag anay DOH secretary Janette Garin ang pag-designar kay Pujalte nga iya ginlaragway nga propesyonal kag dedikado sa serbisyo publiko.
Samtang, nanawagan ang Alliance of Health Workers sa bag-o nga liderato sang DOH nga solbaron ang madugay na nga mga problema sang mga health worker kag ipatuman ang kinahanglan nga mga reporma sa sistema sang public health.
Nagpabutyag man ang grupo nga dapat magapadayon ang imbestigasyon sa mga reklamo batok kay Herbosa bisan pa nga nag-resign na siya sa iya pwesto.
“Public office is a public trust, and resignation from office does not absolve any public official from answering complaints and allegations raised in connection with the performance of their duties,” suno sa grupo.
Dugang pa sa statement: “While AHW respects secretary Herbosa’s decision to prioritize his health, stepping down from office does not erase the numerous complaints and concerns raised by concerned DOH employees, health workers and other stakeholders during his tenure.”
Para pa sa grupo, bisan nga wala na si Herbosa sa pwesto, kinahanglan ini ipaidalom sa “thorough, independent and transparent investigation” sang Office of the Ombudsman kag iban pa nga nagakaigu nga oversight bodies.
“His resignation should have come much earlier, as his tenure has failed to bring meaningful improvements to the conditions of health workers and the country’s public health care system,” dugang sang AHW.
