ILOILO – Iloilo Provincial Government employees are in for a much merrier holiday season as they are set to receive a P47,000 incentives this December.

In a recent development, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Appropriation Ordinance No. 2024-04 and Appropriation Ordinance No. 2024-05, authorizing supplemental budgets No. 3 and No. 4. These ordinances will fund a Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) Incentive of P22,000, a Service Recognition Incentive of P20,000, and a Productivity Enhancement Incentive of P5,000.

Iloilo 4th District Board Member Domingo Oso Jr., Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations, shared in an interview with Bombo Radyo that the appropriation ordinances have already been signed and are awaiting Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.’s signature to allow the Provincial Treasurer to release the funds.

According to Oso, the incentives are expected to be distributed before the year ends, in compliance with the Department of Budget and Management’s guidelines, which require that the incentives be given no later than December 31, 2024.

Originally, the employees were only set to receive P15,000 for the CNA Incentive. However, a position paper from employees at the Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal requested additional funding, leading to a favorable response from the Department of Budget and Management. The incentive was thus increased by P7,000, bringing the total to P22,000.

The full P47,000 incentives will be given to regular, casual, contractual, appointive, and elective officials of the Iloilo Provincial Government. Job hires and contract-of-service workers, meanwhile, will receive a gratuity pay. This unexpected boost in incentives ensures that Iloilo Provincial employees will have a much brighter and happier holiday season.
