The sacrifices of a mother have borne sweet fruit as her two daughters achieved a remarkable milestone by passing the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers together.

The achievers, Britzel Mae Escobañez Enrico and Leila Jennifer Enrico from Damires, New Lucena, Iloilo, not only overcame personal challenges but also honored their mother’s unwavering support and dedication.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, their mother, Emros Enrico, recounted her struggles.

Emros became pregnant at a young age while her husband faced unstable employment.

With five children to care for, she decided to work in Singapore to support her family.

However, health issues forced her to return to the Philippines, where she continued to fight for a better life for her children.

Britzel Mae’s journey was particularly challenging. She became pregnant at 17 years old while in Grade 11.

Despite this, she persevered with the support of her family, especially her mother, who cared for her child so Britzel Mae could finish her studies.

Her determination paid off when she passed the licensure exam alongside her sister.

Leila Jennifer, on the other hand, used her sister’s experience as motivation.

Determined to avoid early pregnancy, she focused on her studies and graduated Cum Laude.

Her resolve and hard work culminated in the joyous moment of passing the licensure exam with her sister.

The simultaneous success of the two sisters is a testament to resilience, family support, and a mother’s sacrifices.

Their story serves as an inspiration to others, proving that no obstacle is insurmountable with determination and familial love.
