Nagpagwa sang show cause order ang Senate Impeachment Court kanday House prosecutor Terry Ridon kag private prosecutor Benjamin Tolosa Jr. kag ginapangabay sila nga ipaathag ang ila mga pahayag nga mahimo naglapas sa sub judice rule.
Ang sub judice rule nagadumili sa mga partido sa impeachment case nga maghatag sang statement sa publiko kaangot sa mga merito sang nagapadayon nga impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ginkumpirmar ni Ridon ang order isa ka adlaw matapos ginpahayag sang Impeachment Court nga may duha ka miyembro sang prosecution panel nga ginmanduan nga maghatag sang paathag.
“We confirm that we received the show cause order from the Senate impeachment court concerning sub judice matters. We respect the decision of the Impeachment court, and we will answer the order by the end of today,” suno sa kongresista kag co-lead prosecutor sang Article II sa Articles of Impeachment.
Sandig sa Article 18 sang Rules on Impeachment, ginadumilian ang mga senador, prosecutors, gin-impeach nga opisyal, ila mga abogado kag mga testigo nga maghatag sang public comments ukon disclosures kaangot sa merito sang kaso.
Sang Agusto 2026, ginpaandaman ni Senate Impeachment Court Presiding Officer Francis Escudero ang mga partido nga ang paglapas sa sub judice rule mahimo magresulta sa penalidad, lakip ang P30,000 nga multa sa kada paglapas.
Wala ginhingadlan ni Ridon kun ano nga mga pahayag ang gin-flag sang Impeachment Court, apang iya ginpahayag nga katungdanan sang prosecution nga ipaathag sa publiko ang proseso sang impeachment sa kondisyon nga magsunod sa mga patakaran sang korte.
“Our role as prosecutors should be viewed in the entirety of the context of explaining to the public the goings-on of the trial. We have never asked the court to pre-judge. The impeachment trial is ongoing,” suno sa iya.
Suno pa kay Ridon, respetuhon kag sundon sang prosecution ang desisyon sang Impeachment Court.
“We do not seek to influence the senator-judges. Ultimately, ang pinakamahalaga po, hindi lang po kami-kami sa kapulungan. Ang pinakamahalaga po, nauunawaan ng ordinaryong Pilipino kung bakit kung meron po tayong paglilitis, bakit mahalaga po yung katotohanan, bakit mahalaga yung pananagutan,” dugang pa sini.#
