The top 1 most wanted person at the municipal level, charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, was apprehended during his return to Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, San Enrique, to celebrate New Year.
The suspect, identified as Nimrod B. Pamonag, 39, married, and a resident of Barangay Braulan, San Enrique, Iloilo, was arrested by local authorities on New Year’s Eve.
According to PLt. Christy Val Dalde, Officer-in-Charge of the San Enrique Municipal Police Station, Pamonag was involved in a strafing incident in 2024 in Barangay Braulan, where a family traveling in a van was targeted. The suspect had previously been imprisoned but was released on bail. However, he fled to Manila and failed to attend court hearings.
Police received intelligence reports that Pamonag was returning to his hometown for the holiday. Acting swiftly, authorities apprehended him upon his arrival.
Pamonag is currently under the custody of the San Enrique Municipal Police Station, awaiting further legal proceedings.
