Gin-activate sang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang bag-o nga unit nga magatutok sa paghatag sang proteksyon kay Vice President-elect Sara Duterte Carpio kag sa iya nga pamilya.
Ginatawag ini nga unit nga Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG).
Ginpatigayon ang activation ceremony sa AFP General Headquarters.
Ginbutang man ni AFP Chief of Staff General Andres Centino si Lietenant Colonel Rene Giroy sang Philippine Army bilang labing-una nga VPSPG group commander.
Antes sini, naka-attach lang ang Vice Presidential Security Detachment sa Presidential Security Group.
Bangud sini nga pagbag-o, isa na separado nga unit ang VPSPG nga ginapangunahan sang officer nga may rank nga colonel ukon Navy captain.
