ILOILO CITY – Iloilo Second District Board Member June Mondejar clarified the process on the release of P1,000 financial assistance to Iloilo’s barangay tanods.
Author of Provincial Ordinance 2020-240, providing benefits to barangay tanods, Mondejar said the release will be coursed through Iloilo towns. This, as clarification was sought as to whether the tanod themselves are to get the yearly cash incentives at the Capitol.
Released through ceremonial distributions of the financial assistance, each tanod will get a cash incentive of P1,000 per year.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Mondejar explained that there are representatives from local government units who are responsible for collecting the funds from the capitol.
Also an option is for the municipal treasurer or barangay treasurer to handle the funds.
According to Mondejar, once the funds are received, it is up to the municipality to determine how to distribute the cash incentives to the tanods.
It is necessary for the concerned party to prepare and process the required documents in compliance with the provisions of the ordinance.
