𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – A family-run drug operation was dismantled during a successful buy-bust operation in Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City, where law enforcement officials arrested a couple, and their children involved in the illegal drug trade.
The couple, identified by authorities as Alyas Rommel and Alyas Cecel, were allegedly running the drug business from their home in Zone 3 of the barangay. According to Police Captain Ryan Christ Inot, Chief of Police of Molo Police Station, the parents were responsible for supplying the illegal drugs, while their children handled transactions with buyers.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Police Captain Inot explained that the family had been previously warned multiple times by local barangay officials about their illegal activities but continued their operations without stopping. The couple’s child was previously apprehended in a separate buy-bust operation, where authorities seized over ₱2 million worth of illegal drugs.
Despite repeated warnings from the barangay officials, the family continued their drug operations, prompting law enforcement to conduct a month-long surveillance operation. The culmination of this effort was the successful buy-bust operation that took place late last night.
Authorities have yet to confirm the total amount of illegal drugs seized in the latest operation, but they are continuing their investigation into the family’s drug network.
This drug bust highlights the persistence of illegal drug operations even in the face of community warnings and law enforcement efforts. Police are expected to press charges against the family members involved and are continuing to monitor the situation closely.
