The latest survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS) shows a notable decline in the trust ratings of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.
According to the survey commissioned by Stratbase Consultancy, Marcos’ trust rating fell by 4 percentage points from 33% in September to 29% in December 2024. Among the 98% of respondents who were aware of the President, 54% expressed much trust, 19% were undecided, and 25% indicated little trust in him.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte’s trust rating also experienced a drop of 6 percentage points, declining from 29% in September to 23% in December 2024. Of the respondents aware of her (98%), 52% said they had much trust, 17% were undecided, and 29% had little trust.
The survey, which was conducted between December 12 and 18, 2024, involved face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults aged 18 years and above. The survey has a sampling error margin of ±2% for national figures, with larger margins for regional data—±3% for Balance Luzon and ±5% for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Respondents were asked to rate their trust in both Marcos and Duterte, ranging from “very much” to “very little.”
This marks the latest shift in public opinion for both leaders, as they navigate the final stretch of their terms in office.
