At least 12 people were killed and 30 others injured following a series of U.S. airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, according to the Houthi rebels.

The U.S. Central Command has declined to comment on the operation or confirm whether civilian casualties were involved.

Houthi officials reported that one of the airstrikes hit a busy marketplace in the Farwa district, a location that had been previously targeted by American forces. Footage released by a Houthi-run news outlet showed significant damage to buildings and vehicles in the area.

The strikes reportedly continued overnight into Monday, affecting multiple regions including Amran, Hodeida, Marib, and Saada governorates.

The airstrikes come as part of an intensified U.S. military campaign aimed at curbing Houthi attacks on commercial vessels navigating the Red Sea. The group has escalated its targeting of ships in protest of U.S. and allied operations in the region.

This latest assault also follows a deadly airstrike last week on the Ras Isa fuel port, which left 74 people dead and 171 injured, according to Yemeni health officials.

The international community has expressed growing concern over the rising civilian toll and the potential for broader regional instability.
