On the sixth day of intensifying hostilities between Israel and Iran, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a grave warning of a possible all-out war with Israel.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khamenei declared, “In the name of the great Haidar, the war will begin.” Haidar is a title often associated with Imam Ali, considered by many Muslims as the first Imam and the rightful successor of the Prophet Muhammad.

The Iranian leader also vowed harsh retaliation against what he described as the “terrorist Zionist regime,” stating that Iran would show “no mercy” to Zionists.

This comes after former U.S. President Donald Trump publicly demanded Iran’s unconditional surrender, adding that they would not “eliminate” the Supreme Leader — for now. Meanwhile, the Group of 7 (G7), including the United States, has urged Iran to seek de-escalation and avoid further military action.

According to unnamed U.S. officials, President Trump is reportedly weighing the possibility of using American military assets to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities. A senior official also noted that Israel is currently waiting to see whether the U.S. will step in to help “finish the job” of dismantling Iran’s nuclear program.

Earlier Wednesday morning, Israel confirmed that it had launched a series of strikes on Tehran. Authorities also warned Israeli citizens of incoming missile threats from Iran after several missiles reportedly breached Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, causing explosions in Tel Aviv.

The situation continues to escalate, with international leaders closely monitoring what could potentially develop into a broader regional conflict.
