Sa follow-up statement nga gin-release sang unibersidad subong nga adlaw, Hunyo 9, ginpahayag nga ang ginikanan mismo ni Baterbonia ang nag-request sang autopsy.
Suno sa Ateneo, nagpakig-angot na sila sa nagakaigu nga awtoridad lakip na sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) kag sa Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) agud nga i-facilitate ini nga proseso.
“When Rene’s parents and brother arrived from Davao City this afternoon, they were met at Arlington Memorial Chapels and Crematory by University President Fr. Roberto C. Yap, SJ, who conveyed the condolences and prayers of the entire Ateneo community,” suno pa sa official statement.
Yara na subong ang bangkay ni Baterbonia kag sang isa pa ka student-athlete nga si Divine Adili sa Arlington Memorial Chapels sa Quezon City.
Ginkumpirma man sang unibersidad nga iga-byahe ang lawas ni Adili pabalik sa Nigeria bilang pagsunod man sa family and cultural practices nga importante man para sa mga himata sang amo nga Nigerian athlete.
“The University is assisting the family in the necessary arrangements and is awaiting the written authorization required to begin processing the relevant documentation,” suno pa sa statement.
Nagbalik naman halin sa Aurora ang iban pa nga mga myembro sang men’s basketball team kag ginpaidalom sa psychological processing kag counseling sessions.
“We understand the grief, pain, and many questions and concerns that members of our community may be experiencing. As we continue to accompany the families, the team, and all those affected, we ask for pataience, compassion, and prayers for everyone who is carrying the burden of this loss,” suno pa sa Ateneo.
“The University remains committed to caring for the Baterbonia and Adili families, supporting the team and coaching staff, and pursuing a careful and thorough understanding of the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.”
Ini nga statement sang Ateneo ang kasunod sang panawagan sang publiko nga athagon nila kag sabton ang mga palamangkutanon kasunod sang alleged drowning incident sa Dipaculao, Aurora.
Sa press conference subong nga adlaw, ginplastar man sang kapulisan nga sa inisyal nga imbestigasyon, wala sang senyales sang foul play sa kamatayon sang duha.
Suno kay Aurora Provincial Director PCol. Percival Pineda, sandig sa mga testimoniya sang mga testigo, aksidente gid lamang ang natabo.
Natabo ini 2:40 kahapon sang hapon, Hunyo 8, kadungan sang team-building activity sang Ateneo nga gin-updan sang 20 ka mga tawo.
“So, base po sa ating nakuhang salaysay ng mga kasama niya, ito pong insidente na ito ay talaga pong purely accident. So natural accident po yung pangyayari, hindi po talaga inaasahan, at wala po tayong, sa ngayon wala po tayong nakikitang foul play sa aksidente na ito,” suno sa director.#
