MANILA – Several areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) have suspended face-to-face classes on Monday, March 3, due to the expected high heat index.

According to the latest weather updates, no low-pressure area is currently being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). However, the Easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, continue to affect the country.

Satellite images show thick clouds forming over the eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao due to the effects of the Easterlies. As a result, rain showers are expected in Eastern Visayas, parts of Mindanao, and the Bicol Region.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience generally fair weather, although isolated thunderstorms may occur due to localized weather disturbances.

In the coming days, scattered rain showers are expected, especially in Mindanao, while the hot weather conditions will persist in most parts of the country.

Due to the anticipated high heat index, face-to-face classes have been suspended in several areas of NCR, including Malabon City, Las Piñas, Caloocan City, and Valenzuela City.

Weather forecasts indicate that no tropical cyclones are expected to affect the country in the next three days.
