𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – A pickup truck slammed into multiple cement barriers on Jalandoni Street, Iloilo City Proper, following the Dinagyang Festival 2025.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Police Corporal Emmanuel Jude Garcesa, a traffic investigator with the Iloilo City Police Office Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Unit (ICPO-TIEU), stated that the driver, along with his companion, was on his way home to Fundidor, Molo, Iloilo City when the incident occurred.
Garcesa shared that the driver was startled by a loud noise, and in a moment of confusion, he mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into the barriers.
It was later discovered that the driver had the strong scent of alcohol.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
Currently, authorities are waiting for the vehicle to be towed and are coordinating with officials from Iloilo City Hall regarding the driver’s responsibility for the damages to the cement barriers.
