A man who was allegedly seen jumping into the Iloilo River early this morning was later found drinking at his home, contradicting initial reports of his disappearance.
The man, identified only as alias “Archie,” a 38-year-old ice cream vendor, was reportedly involved in an altercation with a group of men in the City Proper area. The dispute allegedly stemmed from a transaction involving commercial sex workers.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Archie’s younger brother, alias “Darwin,” revealed that his brother sustained a severe head wound. Despite this, Archie managed to return home and was found drinking.
According to Darwin, he and his brother were in the downtown area when they had a conversation with some commercial sex workers. However, a group of men suddenly approached and allegedly attacked them. The conflict was reportedly about pricing negotiations, which escalated into a heated argument.
Darwin could not identify the men but suspects they were either the husbands or boyfriends of the commercial sex workers.
During the brawl, Archie was struck on the head and later taken away on a tricycle. Upon reaching a bridge, he allegedly ran toward the river and jumped.
Despite this dramatic turn of events, Archie was later found safe at home. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
