Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo appeared before the Pasig Regional Trial Court on Wednesday, May 28, in connection with her ongoing case of qualified human trafficking.

During the court proceedings, Guo’s legal team presented their evidence. However, her lawyer, Atty. Nicole Jamilla, did not disclose the identity of their witness or the specific nature of the evidence submitted to the court.

According to Atty. Jamilla, Guo was required to attend the hearing in person since it was the defense’s turn to present their side in the ongoing trial.

She further explained that the evidence presented is part of a continuing legal process, as there are other individuals also facing charges in relation to the case.

The hearing concluded shortly after noon.

Guo is accused of being linked to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, Tarlac, which was allegedly involved in human trafficking. The facility was raided by authorities in March last year, resulting in the rescue of 371 Filipinos and 497 foreign nationals.
