TEHRAN, IRAN — Iran has appointed a new intelligence chief for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) following the death of the previous head in an airstrike.
Brigadier General Majid Khadami has been named as the new chief of the IRGC’s intelligence division by Major General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the IRGC Ground Forces.
Khadami replaces the late Mohammad Kazemi, who was killed in a prior airstrike alongside two others senior IRGC officials—Hassan Mohaghegh and Mohsen Bagheri.
In an interview, Commander Pakpour expressed confidence in Khadami’s capabilities, emphasizing that he is well-suited to lead the intelligence division, especially amid ongoing aerial offensives against rival states.
Pakpour also praised the improvements in the IRGC’s intelligence operations under the late Kazemi, saying he believes General Khadami will build on his predecessor’s achievements.
Meanwhile, the Iranian commander issued another stern warning to Israel, hinting at more intensified attacks in the coming days.
