𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 – Authorities are still actively searching for a former Philippine Army member who shot and killed a Barangay Tanod in Brgy. Cau-ayan, Pototan, Iloilo.
The victim, identified as alias Rose, 34 years old, and the suspect, alias Roger, 59 years old, are both residents of the same area.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Police Staff Sergeant Noli Peñarubia, investigator at the Pototan Municipal Police Station, revealed that the suspect fled the scene after committing the crime on December 23.
According to Peñarubia, their investigation revealed that the suspect was absent without official leave (AWOL) from the military at the time of the incident.
One of the angles being investigated in the crime involves a previous conflict. The victim’s mother stated that the suspect became angry with her daughter after being reprimanded for singing karaoke late at night.
It was discovered that Rose was on her way home when she encountered Roger, leading to an argument between the two.
During the confrontation, Roger shot Rose in the chest and abdomen with a .45-caliber pistol, which was the cause of her death.
It was also discovered that Roger had a previous police record, where he had also killed a woman in the same town.
