Ginpaathag ni Senate President Pro Tempore Sherwin Gatchalian nga wala dapat ginabalewala ang ano man nga report sang pagpamahog sa seguridad sa Senado.
Ini ang rason sang iya pagdagdag sang order sa mga empleyado sang upper chamber nga mag-shift anay sa work-from-home arrangement kag ipatuman ang heightened security measures halin sa Hunyo 10-11, 2026.
Mismo ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang nagpalab-ot sang impormasyon kaangot sa security threat sa chamber.
“We have directed all Senate Secretariat and Senate Proper offices to adopt a work-from-home arrangement and implement heightened security measures in response to ongoing security concerns affecting the Senate complex from June 10 to 11,” pahayag ni Gatchalian.
Nagpakig-angot man ang Senado sa Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms agud nga mapabaskog pa ang security protocols lakip na ang pagdumili anay sa pagpasulod sang mga bisita.
“Hindi tayo puwedeng maging kampante. Kung may intelligence information tungkol sa banta, dapat itong seryosohin. Lahat ng banta ay seseryosohin natin,” pahayag sini sa iya statement subong nga gab-i.
“These measures are precautionary and intended to preserve peace and order amid reports from the National Bureau of Investigation regarding a credible threat to the Senate,” dugang sini.
Una na nga ginpahayag ni Gatchalian nga napahibalo sa ila ang alleged security threat paagi kay NBI Director Melvin Matibag nga amo ang nagpanugid sini kadungan sang Senate Blue Ribbon Committee consultative meeting.
“During the Blue Ribbon consultative meeting yesterday, NBI Director Melvin Matibag informed the sectors present that there is a potential threat to the Senate building and the Senate premises,” suno sa senador.#
