๐—œ๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—œ๐—Ÿ๐—ข ๐—–๐—œ๐—ง๐—ฌ – Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treรฑas has announced that he will summon the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in connection with the temporary closure of the Iloilo International Airport on the morning of December 22.

According to the mayor, the airport’s shutdown caused significant distress for passengers traveling to and from various parts of the country through Iloilo City.

“I will summon the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) authorities in charge of the Iloilo International Airport to explain why it was closed the entire morning. This situation caused significant dismay and inconvenience to passengers traveling to and from various destinations across the country,” Mayor Treรฑas said.

The mayor emphasized that the airport is a critical gateway, and disruptions of this scale can have a major impact on both the city’s reputation and its local economy.

He assured that the situation would be thoroughly addressed.

“Ilonggos deserve better. The airport is a critical gateway that impacts not only our connectivity but also our local economy and reputation. Any disruption of this magnitude must be addressed promptly and transparently. I will ensure that accountability is upheld and that measures are implemented to prevent such incidents from happening again,” the mayor added.
