ILOILO – Iloilo Province has reported four fatalities due to dengue, according to the Iloilo Provincial Health Office (PHO) in its Morbidity Week 5 report, covering the period from January 1, 2025, to February 1, 2025. A total of 385 dengue cases were recorded during this period.
The PHO data indicates that among the four deceased, the victims include a 67-year-old from Pototan, a 6-year-old child from Pototan, a 71-year-old from Carles, and an 11-month-old infant from Oton.
Out of the 43 Local Government Units in Iloilo, Bingawan was the only municipality with no reported dengue cases.
The Iloilo Provincial Health Office has called on the public to assist in the campaign against dengue as cases continue to rise in the province.
The public is urged to follow the 5S strategy in the fight against dengue, which includes:
Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites
Self-protection through proper clothing and repellents
Seek early consultation for symptoms
Support fogging, spraying, and misting in hotspot areas
Sustain hydration to combat dehydration from fever
