MANILA — The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Duterte siblings to comment on the government’s response to their habeas corpus petitions seeking the return of their father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

The camp of Paolo, Sebastian, and Veronica Duterte has five days to respond to the filing submitted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday.

Duterte was arrested last Tuesday after Interpol enforced an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). He was flown to The Hague, Netherlands, on the same day to face crimes against humanity charges linked to his war on drugs.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. clarified that the Philippine government cooperated with Interpol, not the ICC, in Duterte’s arrest and transfer.
