Boca Raton, FL — Three people were killed when a twin-engine Cessna 310 aircraft crashed onto a roadway in Boca Raton, Florida, according to reports from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

The small aircraft, which had just taken off from Boca Raton and was en route to Tallahassee, went down just 12 minutes after takeoff. Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the crash.

A man driving a car near the crash site was injured after being hit by debris and flames from the wreckage, officials said. He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing as FAA and NTSB teams continue to examine the scene and gather evidence to determine what led to the fatal accident.
