MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Monday reiterated its call for former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque to return to the Philippines, amid his continued stay in The Hague, Netherlands, and controversial accusations against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

In a Palace press briefing, Undersecretary Claire Castro, Press Officer of Malacañang, criticized Roque, saying he appears to be “crying for help” in a desperate attempt to validate his baseless allegations against the President.

Castro’s statement comes after Roque accused President Marcos of allegedly using illegal drugs — a claim the Palace strongly denies.

Roque had previously challenged Senator Imee Marcos, the President’s sister, to prove that President Marcos was not “high,” further escalating the tension.

The Palace official also branded Roque as a “peddler of fake news,” citing his recent public statements.

Castro alleged that Roque was behind the controversial “polvoron video” involving President Marcos. This claim is based on the testimony of vlogger Pebbles Cunanan during a hearing conducted by the Senate Tricommittee.

As of now, Roque has not issued a response to the latest statements from Malacañang.
