Kabahin ini sang keynote address sang presidente sa Third Commencement Exercises sang West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of Law sa La Paz, Iloilo City subong nga adlaw, Hunyo 5.
Suno kay Marcos, ang propesyon nga napili sang mga abogado ang may katungdanan man para sa mga pigado.
Ginpahanumdom sini nga indi dapat pagpabay-an ang mga kubos bangud lamang nga kulang sila sa manggad, impluwensya, ukon gahum.
“Dear graduates, our future lawyers, there is a beautiful quote coined by former President Ramon Magsaysay. He once stated that those who have less in life should have more in law,” suno kay Marcos. “This is a reminder that your chosen profession carries a responsibility to ensure that the poor, the vulnerable, the marginalized, the disenfranchised, are not left without protection simply because they lack wealth, or influence, or power.”
Sa tion suno sa iya nga nabutang sa mga pagtilaw ang mga institusyon, labi nga importante ang responsibilidad.
Ginpahayag man sini nga ang talaksan sang kadalag-an indi lamang amo ang mga kaso nga nadag-an ukon mga posisyon nga gina-uyatan; kundi ang pagsalig sang tawo, ang pagka-patas sa propesyon, kag ang pag-demonstrar sang integridad bisan pa nga wala sang nagalantaw.
“Your success will not be measured solely by the cases that you win or the positions that you will hold,” suno pa sa presidente. “It will be measured by the confidence that people place in you, by the fairness with which you exercise your profession, and by the integrity you demonstrate even when no one is watching.”
Ginpangabay sini sa aspiring lawyers nga pili-on gid ang prinsipyo labaw sa mahapos nga mga dalan; ang kamatuoran labaw sa kabutigan; kag ang serbisyo labaw sa kaugalingon nga interes.
“Do not be swayed by fleeting opinions or the allure of convenience. So long as you remain anchored in integrity, fairness, and truth, you shall never lose your way. May you always choose principle over convenience, truth over falsehood, and service over self-interest. May you use your expertise to help build a nation worthy of the aspirations of our people,” dugang sini sa iya keynote address.
Nahibaluan nga si First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos ang isa sa faculty members sang WVSU College of Law. Sa amo nga seremonya, naghatag ang graduates sang audio-visual tribute para sa iya. Sang Enero, naka-post na ang First Lady nga ini na ang iya ika-apat kag ulihi nga tuig nga maka-upod sa amo nga unibersidad.
Matandaan nga sang 2020 sang na-establisar ang WVSU College of Law kag amo ang una kag isahanon nga state university sa Western Visayas nga nagatanyag sang libre nga legal education.#
