Colonel Nhel Richard Patricio has officially assumed the role of the new commander of the 301st Infantry Bayanihan Brigade of the Philippine Army.
He took over from Brigadier General Michael Samson after nearly two years of service.
The formal Change of Command ceremony was held yesterday at the headquarters of the 301st Infantry Bayanihan Brigade in Brgy. San Jose, Dingle, Iloilo.
The ceremony was presided over by Major General Marion Sison, Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, and was attended by various partner agencies.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Colonel Patricio expressed his commitment to ending insurgency in the Panay region.
He also called on rebels to surrender and return to the fold of the government, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity for the region’s progress.
Patricio’s leadership comes at a time when efforts to combat insurgency in Panay have been a key focus of the Philippine Army, with the new commander vowing to intensify operations and cooperation with local communities to bring lasting peace to the island.
