Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the mobilization of two American nuclear submarines to undisclosed strategic regions in response to recent threats issued by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

Although Trump did not specify the exact deployment locations, he described the move as a precautionary measure, saying it was in anticipation of Medvedev’s provocative remarks becoming reality.

The escalating tension follows Trump’s withdrawal of his previously declared 50-day deadline for Russia to engage in peace negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. The former president has now shortened the deadline to just 10 to 12 days and warned that further delays would result in harsh sanctions.

Medvedev, currently serving as the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, dismissed Trump’s ultimatum, claiming the former U.S. president has a penchant for dramatic threats. He also reminded Washington that Russia still possesses Soviet-era nuclear strike capabilities, adding that every ultimatum brings the world a step closer to war.

In his response, Trump did not hold back, labeling Medvedev a “failed former president” who still behaves as if he holds power. Trump further warned Medvedev to proceed with caution, saying the Russian official was treading into dangerous territory.

As of now, the Russian government has not issued any official response to Trump’s latest statements.
