A mother proves that her love for her child, who has Stage 5 chronic kidney disease, is incomparable.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Rachel Mendoza shared that in July 2018, when she was 22 years old, she was diagnosed with this condition.

She had been working for four years as a call center agent when she learned of her illness.

According to Rachel, her mother, Elvie Abalo Mendoza, a native of Zamora Street, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, has been her source of strength despite the struggles with her health that she has been experiencing.

In December 2018, she began her dialysis, which is done three times a week.

In July of this year, a lump was discovered in her kidney, and she is still waiting for the results of her biopsy to determine if there is any damage or illness.

Her mother will serve as her kidney donor, and the surgery is expected to take place in January or February of the coming year.

This act of immense love and courage highlights the lengths a parent will go to for their child’s well-being, and it underscores the critical need for organ donation awareness.

The family hopes their story will inspire others to consider organ donation and spread awareness about the importance of kidney health.
