𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – As the 2025 Dinagyang Festival approaches, the eight participating tribes in the Ati Tribes competition are already 70% prepared for the highly anticipated event.
This year’s theme, “Buhi nga Pagtuo sa Kinabuhi sang mga Ilonggo” (Living Faith in the Lives of Ilonggos), reflects the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival to the people of Iloilo.
The tribes competing in the prestigious Ati Tribes competition are:
Tribu Paghidaet from La Paz National High School
Tribu Salognon from Jaro National High School
Tribu Parianon from the District of Molo
Tribu Ilonganon from Jalandoni Memorial National High School
Tribu Pag-Asa Kang Manduryaw from the District of Mandurriao
Tribu Hangaway from Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School
Tribu Molave from Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao
Tribu Pan-Ay from Fort San Pedro National High School
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Eric Divinagracia, the artistic director of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival, revealed that the opening salvo was moved up earlier to give the tribes ample time for preparation leading up to the grand day.
According to Divinagracia, the tribes will begin blocking rehearsals next week in preparation for the grand performance on January 26.
He also reminded the participating tribes to follow the regulations set forth for the competition.
Aside from the Ati Tribes competition, other highlights of the festival include the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, the Dinagyang ILOmination Streetdance Competition, and the Sadsad sa Calle Real – all of which are expected to draw large crowds and showcase the vibrant culture of Iloilo.
