President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to restore the P400 million branding budget for the Department of Tourism (DOT).
In a statement, President Marcos emphasized the importance of sustaining the positive momentum that Filipinos have started in improving the image of the Philippines. He expressed the need to continue the efforts that have already gained traction.
“We have to maintain the momentum. There is already momentum,” said Marcos.
The P400 million will be sourced from the President’s contingency fund.
The President highlighted recent achievements by Filipinos, such as the success of two-time gymnastics world champion Carlos Yulo and Sofronio Vasquez, the winner of “The Voice US,” both of whom have brought pride to the nation.
This funding is expected to further promote the country’s image and support ongoing efforts to showcase Filipino talent and accomplishments globally.
