A group of alcohol drinkers gathered in protest over the rising cost of alcoholic beverages in Ghana.
According to the Ghana Drunkards Association (GDA), a demonstration was held in the capital city of Accra to call on the government to address their concerns and find a solution to the increasing prices of liquor.
Moses Onyah, president of the association, said the 15 percent price hike would be strongly felt by their millions of members.
The group issued a three-week ultimatum for the government to act on the matter and appealed for the intervention of former President John Dramani Mahama.
Despite its humorous tone, the Ghana Drunkards Association is one of the most well-known organizations in the country, claiming a membership of over 6.6 million.
